We had a fun Christmas this year celebrating with the Mabry side of the family. Max loved hanging out with everyone, especially his Harrison cousins, and GrandBetsy's musical Santa and gorilla. It was nice to take some time off and relax (while M was sleeping).
These past few months have been fun seeing M understand what were saying. A few weeks ago he was still in his pj's and I told him we need to go get ready and he runs to our utility room, where we keep some shoes on a shelf and he hands me my shoes, then his. He also runs to his bath when we tell him it's bath time, to his crib when it's nap time, and lays down on his change pad when I tell him I need to change his diaper. It's the little things. He was signing eat while in the car when I picked him from school a few weeks ago, and I told him I didn't have a snack and he had to wait until we got home, and he got quiet. ??? It's amazing what a difference a month or two can make.
His 15 month appointment was on 12/12 and he was 33.4 cm (94%) tall, 27.10 lbs (84%), and his head was 49 cm (91%). Big boy. He still loves to go through all drawers and cabinets, but is also obsessed with his slide (we brought it inside), his basketball goal (GrandBetsy taught him to stand on his chair to shoot), going to the park, Hank, making noises while reading books, "baaaalls", any ball activity, watching me cook/make coffee, helping me load and unload the washer, dryer, and dishwasher, bath time, Mickey Mouse, Chuggington, Thomas the Train, Ellen, watching basketball/soccer, and any show with music or kids. He's starting to use his signs more, (he signs all finished when I try to suction out his nose, and when I wipe his face) which sometimes helps with his frustration and tantrums. Sometimes, meaning 1 in 5. We started time-out a few weeks ago, which has kind of been funny to watch. He likes to show us his belly and clapping. He claps every time we finish reading a book, the end of a show/song, when we come home from a walk, and when we open the garage door. Basically when anything ends he's happy about it. Another new thing of his is when he finds something he likes or figures out how to get or open an object he says "Aaaaaa". Like he's saying, "Whaz uuuuup". Ball is even "Baaaaaa" now. He's becoming a funny little man.
